  • 9:15am Holy Communion Worship service, celebrating our 40th Anniversary
  • 10:45am Fellowship time with coffee and special treats

On Reformation Sunday, October 30, we will have a special worship service starting at 9:15 a.m. at our Iidabashi home church site, where it all began many years ago. The NRK Tokyo Lutheran Center building is now an official historical site according to the city of Tokyo, with numerous recent renovations paid for by the government.

Our history thus far . . . There was English-language worship from the 1930s, with services led by U.S. military chaplains in the 1940s and early '50s. Lutheran worship began in the 1950s, and after a while it became clear that an actual congregation was ripe for incorporation. Thus, St. Paul International Lutheran Church was "born", on September 12th, 1965.

We welcome members, friends, guests, former members, neighbors to join us in the worship celebration, which will feature special music, and in the fellowship time to follow. Look at our memorabilia, including photos, documents, and crafts. Eat home-made treats prepared by our members from countries around the world. And be on the look-out for surprises!

    Please join us!
