Writing the @ sign

In the last lesson, we learned that the @ in e-mail addresses is pronounced "at".

On this page, you'll see how to write the "at" sign, which is really just a small letter "a" with an unfinished circle around it.
Start off as if you were writing a small "a". When you get to the end of the "a", don't stop. Continue and go back up to make a circle around the a. Don't close the circle.
This color picture might help you understand it better.

  1. Write the "at" sign a few times to practice it. Find a way to write it that is comfortable for you.
  2. Ask a few other people what their e-mail addresses are. Write down their addresses in your notebooks (don't forget to write their names, too!)
