Today,
instead of having classes, their other teacher, Mr. Kariya, arranged a trip to an
exhibition hall for an international technology fair. We all left for the event during
lunchtime. There were Internet-connected computers there; about half of the students
were interested in checking to see if any e-mail had accumulated for them over the
weekend. Of those who wanted to check their mail, half could type in all the information
without help, and half needed a little assistance from other students.
The students were free to roam about the fair on their own. A few checked out CUSeeMe and interactive drawing pads. All of them seemed to enjoy themselves.
