Travel Information Package
This is to provide some general information
regarding the Saipan Swim Meet on March 17th and
18th and the Ocean Swim on the 19th.
THE MEET
The Saipan Swim Club will hold a two day
competition at the Kan Pacific 50m x 8 lane
swimming pool on March 17th and 18th, to be
followed by the 28th Annual Saipan Ocean Swim on
March 19th off the beach at the Diamond Hotel.
The course is in the lagoon around two World War
II Tanks.
The Saipan meet will be an age group meet with a
few Masters events, while the finale to the
event will be annual Saipan Ocean Swim. The
Ocean Swim event has an age group 1.3 km swim,
as well as an Open 2.6 km swim. In the past,
this event has been popular for Masters swimmers
as well as age groupers.
Invitations have been sent and indications are
that the 2006 meet will be the biggest Saipan
meet to date. Teams and Schools are
expected from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Philippines,
Australia, Guam, Palau and Saipan.
Meet times
March 17, Friday Meet starts: 3:00 pm
March 18, Saturday Meet starts: 8:00 am
March 19, Sunday Ocean Swim
We would like to encourage swimmers to stay at
the Marianas Resort Hotel, which is within a 5
minute walk of the swimming pool.
It is the swimmer's responsibility to make their
own travel and lodging arrangements for the
trip.
However, you will see attached some information
on airfare and lodging which maybe useful to
you. Swimmer's traveling unaccompanied may want
to make their arrangements along with the
Swimming Coaches.

ACCOMODATIONS
Swimmers and their families are free to make
their own arrangements for hotel accommodations.
The coaches and unaccompanied swimmers will be
