Elementary Swim Class Policy

ATTENDANCE

Participation is mandatory. When the student is unable to swim, he must bring a note from a parent or doctor stating why he can not swim. When the student forgets his swimsuit, he will use what is available from the lost and found.

Please Note: Students are required to wear a swimsuit that is 10cm above the knee.

Grades given at the end of quarter will be based on O, S, I, or NI.

Each teacher may use discretion in determining a change in grades due to circumstances considered valid by the teacher (eg. Attitude in class, horseplay, running, etc.).

RP - Grade 6 students are tested every quarter to check their skills development.
Note: see Swimming Skills Progression for an description of Levels 1 - 8. A separate report card indicating the students swimming level will be given at the beginning and at the end the school year. Additionally, a swimming class grade will appear on the students report card each quarter.
