Here pictured in SINRA magazine planning a research trip for their many travel articles and guidebooks. Hugh and Midori are an ideal husband and wife journalistic team! I join them too, on some of their explorations and enjoy the wild experiences and travel photography. Hugh graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford, and as a Master in English Literature turned his hand to writing some quality literature himself. He is the overall winner of The BBC Wildlife Magazine Awards for Nature Writing 2000. This makes his third prize from the BBC for nature writing! He has also supplied them with news and travel articles. He has been a popular lecturer at Chuo and Hosei Universities. Midori also writes very well and prolifically! She has been featured in Cosmopolitan. As an undergraduate she was research assistant to The Times Far East Bureau, before serving as Writer / Editor for The Japan Times Weekly. She graduated from Yokohama University in International Relations and then from Cambridge at Masters level. Accepted for an Oxford PhD in Environment and Development, she has served as a United Nations Volunteer in Somalia and Tanzania and taught environmental issues at Chuo University's Faculty of Law. She has now established an environmental unit for UNDP in their Windhoek office in Namibia. Researchers and authors of 7 books, hundreds of Japan Times and Japan Times Weekly articles and columns, feature articles in British Airways inflight magazine and regular columns in The Japan Times and All Nippon Airways inflight magazine, their lives are always exciting. Their work also appears in AB ROAD, SINRA, Asahi SCIAS and a regular two page feature series in Executive Magazine. Phew! They're busy.
