Good afternoon, everyone. My name is XXX XXX. Today I'd like to tell you about "Global Warming". I'm interested in this problem because through this year, we've experienced too much abnormal weather. I think it is related to Global Warming.
My research covers 2 main points. I want to discover, how Global Warming is caused, and what effects Global Warming could bring on our daily life.
First, I'm going to tell you a little about Global Warming. It means, literally, the phenomenon of rising global temperature. Now you can see a picture. It shows the mechanism of Global Warming. As you know, we can live thanks to the sun. It gives us heat and light. It is called "Solar Energy". The 30% of this energy returns out of the earth to space, and the 70% is taken into the land. Then the land rediates it to the air as the infrared rays, which are absoabed in Green House Gases(GHGs) including CO2(Carbon Dioxide), CH4(Methane), N2O(Nitrous Oxide), and CFC(Chlorofluorocarbons). This is a very strong Green House Effect, and this is the reason we can live in a comfortable average temperature, about 15C. Without it, it would be -30C. With the increasing of GHGs, However, the global average temperature will get warmer and warmer.
I have covered basic information about Global Warming.
Finally, I will tell you what situations Global Warming could cause. According to Yahoo News, the average temperature rose 0.3 ~ 0.6 degrees over the last hundred years. With this continued pace of rising, it is expected that the average temperature would be 2 degrees warmer, and the sea level would
be 50 cms higher in the future. As a result, we will not be able to avoid troubles such as drought, food crises, or spreading of plague if the Global Warming keeps going.
To summarize, remember that the sun warms the earth and CO2 traps solar heat. This warming causes troubles such as drought, plagues, and hungry etc.
In order not to fall in such a calamitous situations, we should more take care of environment. Remember, we cannot live apart from this blessed planet. The earth is only one, and she is our mother. Thank you very much for listening. Do you have any questions?
