North Korea
by Saki Kito
In this essay I present my research on North Korea. I'm interested in this topic because May 22, Mr Hasuike's children and Mr Chimura's children came to Japan. It was very important things. I'm going to cover two points. First, I will exprore that why North Korea requested a lot of support. Second, how did Japanese who suffered from kidnapping live in North Korea? First, I will show you North Korean's situation, then, I will cover lives of Mr. Hasuike and Mr. Chimura in North Korea.
In any study of North Korea, it is important to know the background details.May 22, Mr Koizumi and Kim Jonill had a meeting in North Korea. Then, they discussed recent problem of North Korea?for example, kidnapping and food aid.
What are the causes of North Korean problems? I think North Korea's problems are caused by Kim jonill's dictatorship. The effects are North Koreans' poverty.
Why did North Korea request a lot of support? North Korea will get many food and medicines from Japan, because North Koreans stave off hunger. North Korea has very little money. I think North Korea used a lot of money for nuclear weapons testing or war expenditure. So North Korea has little money. And North Korea isn't close to many countries. So no one has helped North Korea.
How did Japanese who suffered from kidnapping live in North Korea? In Japan, the kidnapping problem was a major issue in the second half of the 1990's. Mr Hasuike said "we were isolated from other people in the second half of the 1990's". And Mr Chimura said "we can't be concerned with other people in the second half of 1990's". So I think it was Kim Jonill's plot. He maybe had all keys to the kidnappings. He ordered kidnappings.
In brief I have shown North Korean's situation and lioves of Mr. Hasuike and Mr.Chimura. The situation might improve if Kim Jonill had returned all Japanese who were kidnapped, Mr Koizumi will promise to give many food and medicines as soon as this is done. I think the kidnapping problem is easy to solve. Kim Jonill must return all Japanese who were kidnapped, then Japan will save many North Korean's lives.
