First I will talk about the number of later marriages of Japanese women. Is it increasing? Yes. In 1920, the average age of a first marriage of Japanese women is 21.16. To my surprise, in 1995 the age went up to 27.63 according to the Asahi web site. About 7 years later in 75 years. This shows the number of later marriages of Japanese women is greatly increasing.

The most primary reason is they don't need to marry as they can make a living themselves because of the economic improvement of Japanese women. They like their jobs so they don't want to resign because of marriage.
