Recent Mika pictures, 2/1999 A friend loaned us a digital Sony Mavica FD51 for a day. One nice feature is it runs on Lithium Ion batteries (small, light, no memory like NiCad's) we already have, and it saves to 3.5" floppy disk, so your ability to record pictures is only limited by how many floppies you have with you.
Unfortunately, the camera is essentially a disk drive with lens, so it isn't as small other digital cameras can be. Were I to buy one, I would spring for the Mavica FD 81, which also creates 12-second digital videos in .avi format (limited to ~12 seconds before that 1.44MB floppy fills up...).
Actually, my thinking is, why bother to get a digital camera at all, when it will be quickly outdated. Why not just spring for the digital video camera I've always wanted, eh? Why not just take a digital video camera only, and grab still frames as necessary? Trying to lug a still and a video camera means you don't get complete coverage of an event in any format...
I tell you this to give the time to load.... 'cause I haven't yet developed a consistent method for dealing with them. Low quality small pics for a quick load, linked to the big originals? Many hours of work...
At the local post office.

Xmas on the door.
The Genkan, or, the entryway.
In the tatami room downstairs, Mika's play area, with "Thomas the Tank Engine", a favorite toy train set. I like to play, too.
Nothing like your first riding toy... a "Safari Club" with Mickey and Donald, batteries for the horn, siren, and "It's a small small world"
Ice cream from the Daily Store, anyone?
So patiently waiting for these picture updates...
