We went on a trip to Kyoto with our friends Toi, Yumiko and Takayo. It was a little overcast and rainy but still very beautiful with cherry blossoms everywhere. We were very lucky that a friend of Toi's was able to act as our tourguide and take us all over the city.
While we did not actually have coffee at the Anti Dilettante cafe, I couldn't resist a photo.
Cassie was very happy to get to walk through a bamboo forest and look for the place where the bamboo princess came from.
This is one of the many Ryokans where we stayed. Dinner and breakfast are brought to your room. There are always many many dishes and every place that I have ever stayed has had delicious food. The kids loved the food too. We had two different rooms but we all ate our meals together in one room. After dinner, the Ryokan workers come in and clear away all the dishes and the tables and lay out the futons for bedtime.
Lois stayed in the room with the kids while the rest of went out and looked at the beautiful illuminated cherry trees.
Here we are all snug in our futons in the morning.
