We had beautiful weather in Miyajima as well. In our wandering about the village we walked by a fire station!
After a lovely day in Miyajima, we split up with Toi, Yumiko and Takayo going back to Komaki while Lois, the kids and I headed further south to Nagasaki to see our friends there. Our friend Yuko came up from Okinawa and we all stayed at her parents' house.
We went to the nicest playground we have ever seen in Isahaya outside of Nagasaki.
Not only were there lots of great play structures but they had two old fire trucks which the kids could climb on. Unfortunately the train was being painted and so the kids could only look at it but couldn't climb all over it.
Much to our amazement both the cherry trees and the azalea were in bloom in Nagasaki.
We had a wonderful lunch with our friends Shiro and Hiroko in Nagasaki
We got soaking wet running for the street car but the kids didn't care.
We loved the plush train seats that turned so that we were able to be a little foursome. Best of all the kids didn't mind riding backwards!
