We set up the Boy's Day display.
And once again, the kids had a great time getting dressed up.
In April we had a visitor. The moose hung around the area for about a week.
April 2007 also saw our first road trip. We went to Maryland and the kids got to meet their Uncle Joe and Aunt June for the first time. The kids insist on calling Joe - Tonka Joe - after a cartoon that they have. The kids really enjoyed themselves. Just last week I asked Cassie where she would like to go if she could go anywhere and she said to visit Tonka Joe. She then qualified it "Unless they still have that white dog. If they do, then that's my second choice."
We also got to visit Parran, catch up, visit the beach, and see all of her great tiles. |
Cassie and Takumi were thrilled to see Randall again. You can see Takumi wearing his Randall shirt below. |
Takumi, Cassie, Sara and Christopher hit it off immediately. |
Here the Melchiors encouraging the Hoffmans in the pirate glare. |
And here the Hoffmans are teaching the Melchiors the "Grandma Look" - i.e. don't I look so cute that you want to give me a present.
In Virginia, the kids not only got in lots of reading time with their Aunt Linda but they also got to meet their cousin Mina for the first time.
New York was lots of fun as always. There's nothing like a captive audiance willing to pay patty-cake for hours. |
And Takumi turned six in White Plains, New York at my uncle and aunt's!!!!
Takumi loved his birthday spice cake. |
I'm not sure how Takumi looks older here on his birthday than he does now, but here he is in his new birthday shirt and hat.
Marin and her friend found bear and moose tracks in the same spot out on the farm road in back of our house. |
Spring was beautiful!
Takumi was chosen to go to Montpelier and meet the governor based on Takumi's work in turning off the TV, exercising every day, and eating lots of fruits and vegetables! |
Cassie was much more interested in the Ben & Jerry's part of the trip to the Montpelier area.
Here are the kids next to the Cherry Tree in our front yard.
Cassie and Elin at Cassie's Head Start graduation . |
Takumi batting at T-Ball - which apparantly doesn't always involve a T.
Cassie got to celebrate her fifth birthday at the farm (my uncle and aunt's summer place in West Halifax, Vermont). |
