Below is the front of our house as it looks now. There are really three sections to the house. The section on the left is the original section from the 1840's. It is made of brick and is two stories. It has a very large living room wrapped around a fireplace, a laundry room and a bathroom on the first floor. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. This summer we will replace the roof and all the windows and doors of this part of the house. The middle section is the kitchen. Off the back of the kitchen is a porch. We will turn the porch into a sunroom and take about 14 feet of the wall between the kitchen and the porch away. We will replace the windows and make the two small windows above the sink into one big window. We will also replace the floor. Above the kitchen is a storage space. You can only walk upright down the middle. We are going to make this part into a long walk-in closet. The section on the right is just an outbuilding. Most of the windows don't even have glass in them. This will all be torn down and the addition will go here.

Below is the plan for the back - showing the new porch and the addition. The windows, skylights and the door on the right will all look into the sunroom which is attached to the kitchen. The window on the left looks into Lois's room and the other one is for the bathroom.

Below is the plan for the side of the addition. The two windows on the right look into Lois's room and the ones on the left into Marin's room.

Below is the floorplan for the first floor of the addition. You can Lois and Marin's rooms and the new bathroom. The triangular shaped room is a utility room for laundry, the freezer and recycling. There is supposed to be a door going out from the utility room. The opening on the bottom opens into the kitchen.

Below is the floorplan for the second floor. As you can see it is just one big room. This will be our craft room and have the door into the giant walk-in closet over the kitchen.
