Francesco's Note: I saw Agave's ad on "Savour", a new free magazine I get at Biblos in Takadanobaba, and my curiosity was immediately aroused: I am always on the lookout for a chance to eat Mexican food, and that means Mexican and not Tex-Mex, a cuisine I despise. But something in the ad didn't square, so I asked my friend Cortez, who has the bulk of a yokozuna from eating out every day and knows Mexico, whether he had ever been there. Indeed he had, and liked what he found, but Agave is NOT a restaurant. It's a Mexican bar. It was very aptly baptized, since it stocks 400 kinds of Tequila and the Agave Mexicana plant is the main ingredient of this liquor.

Review by Cortez Amaya

Agave is an interesting place with a good atmosphere which can be enjoyed better after a meal elsewhere. Food here is limited to achos, guacamole and little snacks (Cortez really used the expression "little shit", but this is a respectable site ...) like that, hardly satisfactory unless you are already drunk, so you should go there just to have beer, whisky, but first of all Tequila. They have 400 different kinds of it, and you are welcome to accompany your glass with a cigar. Not a place for everyone, then, but if you are the right man, a treat.
