Enoteca disappoints with both insipid cusine and sloppy service. The decor and high prices would have led you to expect otherwise.Service was almost comical with staff tripping over themselves to greet regulars while deliberately ignoring, elbowing the rest aside. If this was a strategy to encourage newcomers to frequent more regularly, it had the opposite effect.
When served bread, the basket was presented with the expectation we reach in and take it out ourselves. Looking behind me, the same waiter served a couple using the proper tongs -- gee, was I wearing my "Fuck Me" shirt today?
For a wine list so extensive, it was even more disappointing to be served by staff who wouldn't know the difference between water or piss. "Lawson's staff with fancy bow-ties". I did enjoy a nice Poussie Fume Prestige 96 however for lunch.
The wine shop on the other hand is excellent.
Francesco's Note:
Why should a French restaurant have an Italian name? How about calling your Indian restaurant "Sri Lanka"?
