At long last we have a British pub in our neighborhood. I am partial to fish and chips, especially when good ale and darts are available or at least not too far. The Fiddler (the word Mean was removed some time ago for copyright reasons) has been a huge success, even though it is a little bit of a gaijin ghetto. The drinking is good, the atmosphere OK, if a little bit cold, prices OK. There is a lot of free room, so it is a place to visit on Saturdays, especially because Saturdays are very often concert nights. On the other hand, that might be a good reason not to go on Saturdays, depending on your inclination. Personally, I have learned to dislike the bands at the Fiddler. Beware: the comedians that convene every second Tuesday can be pitiful. Go straight from Takadanobaba Station towards Waseda and you will find it at the nearest left corner of the Meiji-Waseda Dori intersection.

Open until very late. Shows are very frequent so, if you are interested, you should get a schedule directly from the Fiddler. The Fiddler has its own (horrendous) Web site (see above). You also might want to play there, if you are good enough.
