Life is hard without a little bit of Thai food to forget your worries, so one of the first things I did after landing in the Shonan Coast was to look for a good Thai restaurant.
All I found was Papateo, who pretends to be one, but its claim isn't one you should take too seriously. To begin with the cooks are Japanese, and you can tell. The dishes are a neutered version of the originals, hardly spicy and/or spiced at all. Second, regardless of spiciness, their fried rice (and much else) has an embarrassingly strong Japanese taste. I normally wouldn't even consider such a place, ever, but here in the Shonan coast one can't be too choosy.
That evening when you will feel like having something that tastes at least vaguely of peanuts, lime juice and red chili peppers together with a bottle of Singha, Papateo won't be a complete waste of time and money.
