Over the years I had tried several times to eat at Sujatha, always finding it closed because it seems I tend to go there on Wednesdays, its weekly closing day. Well, now I have finally been there and I can tell you from experience that in many ways it is an odd place. They like opera, there, especially Wagner, of all things. To be able to digest, I had to ask them to play something, or rather, anything else.

The interior is clean and nondescript, pretty much like a Renoir coffee shop, and there are chopsticks on the tables. Still, the cook is a remarkable looking Sri Lankan in his late fifties, and both the Japanese ladies who work there seem to speak Singhalese. This should be a sufficient guarantee of authenticity for the food, which in fact is interesting and good enough. I and my old lady had (all the following dubious spellings are taken from the menu) Achcharu, Cutlis (both of them appetizers), Chicken Tandoori, Vegetable Curry, Chicken curry, Godamba Roti and rice.

Bill with two beers: 6500 yen.
My opinion in a nutshell: worth a visit, probably not a second. It is fairly out of the way, the food is good but not particularly exciting (much like the decor), and the same stuff can be found in countless other places.
