I want to call this a modern Deli but realise I'm not sure what image this would conjure up in peoples' minds or even if it's an accurate description. A Deli gives to me (a non American) an idea of just a sandwich place but this is wrong in this case. WPC is far more. They call themselves a cafè and talk of Delis, but it's a full restaurant with modern food, a combination of European and Asian influences, the sort of thing I imagine when they talk about the young NZ and Australian chefs doing very well in the UK nowadays ignoring old traditional ideas and mixing it up.

They advertise themselves as serving good fresh delis, appetizing lunch and dinner menus and I totally agree. I've been twice for dinner and will be going again. Both times I've had a half salad and a main dish and it was enough. The salads are big, fresh and all the food very tasty.

There's a full range of main courses 1700 - 2000¥, many of them fish dishes. Pasta, pizza and sandwiches from ¥1200-1500, full salads are ¥1200-1400 but a half is plenty big enough.

They have a large range of excellent, mainly U.S., Australian, NZ and South American wines. A nice feature is that there's about 20 wines to choose from to have just a glass. A glass is from ¥750 - 900. There's also a good range of good beers from ¥600 - 800.

It's a bit more expensive than many of the restaurants on this page, the first time I went the bill came to ¥8000 with two glasses of wine, salad and main course for two, and the second time to ¥11,000 with 6 glasses of wine and similar food also for two. It's well worth the money. In summer the doors are open and you can also dine outside, it's big and totally non-smoking.
