The Past minister of Nagoya Union Church is Rev. Mary K. Sapp (D.Min). After 15 years of volunteer service as pastor of Union Church, Rev. Mary Kay Sapp retired in June of 2001 from this position in order to retire from her full time service as a Missionary of the Presbyterian Church USA

Rev. Mary Kay Sapp is a graduate of Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and received her Doctor of Ministries degree from Columbia Seminary in Decatur, Ga. She is a member of Cherokee Presbytery in north Georgia and was sent to Japan as a cooperating missionary of the Presbyterian Church US(A).

Mary Kay Sapp was born in China to the parents of missionaries. Being third generation born in China, she was accepted as natural born Chinese and carried two passports until at the age of 14 when she was forced to return to the States by the Pacific War.

Mary Kay loves tennis, and you will likely find her on the tennis courts on a Monday morning. If she learns that you play tennis also, she will probably find an excuse to engage you on short notice some day to fill in for a missing partner.

Mary Kay's other loves are reading (she used a flashlight to read under the covers as a child and probably that is the reason she wears glasses today her mother used to say.)
