Panel Event: Exploring Avenues to a Successful Legal Career in Japan

The FWLA is very excited to kick off our 2010 regular monthly meeting schedule with a panel event.

We've asked a group of successful women lawyers, who have been working in Japan for a number of years, to talk to us about their challenges and experiences

The panelists are:

Rika Beppu, Joint Managing Partner of the Tokyo office of Lovells
Vicki Beyer, Executive Director, Legal and Compliance Division, Morgan Stanley Japan Securities Co., Ltd.
Claire Chino, Corporate Counsel at Itochu Corporation
Chieko Eda, Head – Japan Office, Law Department, Johnson & Johnson
Jane Pardinas, a Foreign Attorney at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
Jay Ponazecki, a Partner of the Tokyo office of Morrison & Foerster LLP

They have generously agreed to share with us their experiences, challenges and successes as foreign qualified lawyers in Japan. Working in different environments, from law firms to in-house practices, our guests look forward to sharing their unique and diverse perspectives and insights on the various avenues to a successful legal career, particularly in a Japanese legal, cultural and business setting. There will also be ample time for you to ask questions.
