第一章がkeyとなるその人の人生全般を大まかに予言している章。この章を抜きにして、他の章を読むことは出来ないそう。大まかとはいっても本人の星回り、名前、家族のこと、病気のこと、職業や結婚、子どもの有無など、かなり詳しくかいてあります。私が読んでもらったのはこの章だけです。スペシャルの章は１から１２章の中で出てきた様々な予言、もちろんネガティブなものもあるわけですが、それらをどううまく乗り切るのかの処方箋のようなもののようです。
説明後、親指をインクパッドにつけ、小さな紙切れにおさえつけ、ファーストネームのイニシャルだけはその指紋が誰のモノか失念しないように、指紋のそばに書き加えられました。再びひたすら待つことになるわけですが、とりあえず食事をしに出ることにしました。
この遅めの朝食をとったところが、大変けっこうでのちのちまで、I氏は「あそこの南インド料理は絶品だった、あれだけでも行った甲斐があった」と触れ回っていたほどです。田舎町のちょっとしたホテルの食堂なのですが、町の人も大勢食事をしていました。午前中でしたから典型的な南インドのスナックである、イドリ（蒸しパンのようなもの、お米の粉で作る）、ウッタパン（同様原料は米。インド風お好み焼き）、ドサ（これも米粉から作る。クレープのように生地を焼き、ジャガイモなどの具を包んで食べることもある）などをいただきました。いやー、どれも香りよく出来ていて、しかも南インド料理には欠かせないサンバル（野菜の辛いスープ）とココナツチャツネも旨いんだな、これが。やっぱり本場だねー、美味しいねー、と大満足でアガステアナディーの待つ家に１１時半頃戻りました。
