The fastest way from point A to B is obviously by whitelining it...

Being in Tokyo is Good, Out of Tokyo is Best

The Fukushima Area — Autumn touring by Lake Inawashiro, Bandai, and a return to Tokyo via Nikko. 3 riding days, lots of km, and some very cold fingers. Great pics of the area.

Kyushuu — Golden Week, 2001, destination, Kyushuu. Full of mountain roads, hot springs, and more than a couple of castles. Starting from a ferry ride overnight to arrive about 24 hours later, it started raining the whole time. Ahh, I wish I'd had a rain suit proper for this ride. The pics are in, but the pages are still being developed... .

Click to open the Nagano ride notes and photos. Nagano and Shirakawago — During a recent "Golden Week" holiday, I was able to spend 4 days on the bike in the Japan Alps regions, visiting Matsumoto City in Nagano, and Shirakawago in Gifu. Nice mountain roads, snow-capped mountains, and relatively zero traffic made for a near-perfect late spring ride.
