My Life and Times

America is my second home.  I have a strong tie to this country. When I felt bogged down with my career after teaching English for seven years the idea of living in the U.S.A. came naturally to me. 

I selected an American university to pursue my graduate degree.  At the beginning of 1989 I received my M.A. but that's not the end of the story.  In one of my classes, the only night class I ever took, was a classmate named Jack.  He moved to Tokyo when he got a job teaching English and I followed his path a short time later.  Eventually we married.

Our wedding was at a little chapel at lake Tahoe in 1989.  Just the two of us, romantic and practical as we were traveling at the time and didn't want to stay too long in one place. That's how our traveling life began.  Our encounter brought many family members together across the Pacific.  Our families grow larger everyday as the younger ones discover partners across the ocean and across different cultural backgrounds.
