Installing your New Motherboard
So, you
ordered and received the motherboard of your dreams. Verify that you really received
everything. Do not panic if the packaged is not sealed, that's because they had to test it
before shipping it to you. Now your are ready to install your new motherboard.
Before doing anything, always keep in mind the following 3 rules:
 | It never works the first time, even if you are super careful about everything. So, go
slowly, do not panic, and everything will go fine. Buy a book about PC hardware if you
need more confidence.
|
 | Never force anything: if you have to force something to fit in some slot or something,
it means you are doing it wrong (well, sometimes it is hard to plug ISA or PCI cards in
the motherboard slots, I must agree).
|
 | Always touch the case of your computer (metallic part) before touching any electronic
component. Your body is electrically charged (not a lot but that's can be enough to fry a
RAM module) and will be discharged by touching your computer case.
