Autumn / Spring classes
Language Lab - Intermediate 1 - Sat. 10:30 - 12:00
This class is for students who need lots of practice and just a little help
in order to become comfortable speakers of English.
English Through Cinema - Intermediate 2 - Fri.

This class is for those who like to watch great movies and talk about them.
Furthermore, since we read the book that the movie for background information,
the class discussions are very well-informed and illuminating. For Autumn
2008 we are going to study the classic movie To Kill A Mockingbird. Next semester we may use Romeo and Juliet or The Importance of Being Earnest.
Advanced Discussion - Advanced - Sat. 14:45 - 16:15
This class is for students who feel comfortable using English. We read
newspaper articles and discuss them freely. This is not a debate class,
but we sometimes
have rather spirited discussions.
Financial Accounting I / Managerial Accounting
- Advanced - Wed.
19:00 - 20:30
This is a lecture class. If you want to be able to read or analyze financial
statements, are preparing to study abroad, or have to communicate with overseas
offices about financial matters then this class should be beneficial to you.
For Spring 2008 we are studying Managerial Accounting. Managerial Accounting is concerned with decision-making, especially in terms
of discovering the relevant costs and the best way to use them.
Beginning English Conversation Classes
Basic 1 - Tue. - 19:00 - 20:30
Basic 2 - Sat. - 13:00 -14:30
These classes are for students who have been away from English for a while
or who feel they need some "back to basics" practice. You will
spend most of the time talking in these classes; my job is to coach you so
that you
can speak in an easy to understand manner.
Sound obvious? Sure, but as you will learn in class the most common problem areas are not "lack of vocabulary" or "bad grammar" as many learners tend to think. Speech speed, intonation, and active listening are the key things to work on in order to make yourself better understood.
Intensive Classes
In March and September the College offers intensive classes. These classes meet twice a week, usually for just over two hours per meeting. If you have enough free time it is a good chance to get a lot of practice in a short time.
