The source material for this class is a work of literature and a movie based on it. Each semester we will approach the movie / source in a different way. Class discussions will focus on aspects of the movie, the source, the contemporary history, literary theory, movie production techniques and any other appropriate subject. Each week we will watch about 10 minutes of the movie. Our discussions will be on various matters such as: The text vocabulary, meaning, structure, other literary qualities The movie presentation, dialogue, sound, other production techniques Culture the context the works are in (historical, societal). Does that sound too serious? Don't worry, the class is fun. But you will learn a lot. Here are some of my thoughts on the movie/book combinations:
