Now, Voyager

updated 14 April

I'm looking forward to our class, which will begin on April 16th. This Friday!

You may have gotten a postcard from the school already about the necessity of cancelling class next week. The reason is that I have to attend the Orientation for New Students at my school on 23 April in the afternoon. Thus, I won't be able to attend class that day. But we will have at least one make-up class.

The Book

Please order the book as soon as possible. You can order via Amazon Japan or a domestic bookstore such as Maruzen.

Information on how to get the book is at the left -- the ISBN numbers are especially helpful.

14 April: At this time I have one extra copy of the book available. I ordered three copies from Amazon Japan on 3 March, and they arrived one week later. Amazon Japan now shows that they have the book in stock. The list of books that "この商品を買った人はこんな商品も買っています" is interesting, by the way. Can you find any common thread with those books?

= If you want this last copy of Now, Voyager that I have, please send me an email message. =

Also, I am considering using The Big Sleep for next semester's class. Please think about that possibility and let me know your thoughts.

The Story

Please check some of these sites to get an idea about the story. Overall, Now Voyager is about a woman who, nearly paralyzed by self-doubt, transforms herself into an independent person with the help of Dr. Jaquith and her sister-in-law; the other main plots are the romance between Charlotte and JD and the psychological conflict between Charlotte and her mother.
