through Machiya.  Buta really does like trams and trains.  The greater part of Tokyo is divided into twenty three ku, or wards, which are something like the old London municipalities.  Machiya is in Arakawa-ku, hardly the most fashionable part of the City.  Once mainly an industrial area, the larger factories have given way tall blocks of flats as land values have increased, and manufacturing moved to the suburbs, although there are still lots of small workshops.
