Hi! Welcome to my Home Page. It's been a year since I came back to Japan, and this one year really WAS a tremendous year to me in many ways.
First, I
married this "Cool GUY" in
Hawaii, with Weddings with
Makana . If you care to see our wedding pictures, go ahead to visit our "Meg & Jay's
narcissistic Wedding Album" .
Then, we moved to this nice residential area called "HIKARI-ga-oka".
Althouh it takes about an hour to go anywhere in Tokyo from here (it still is
IN Tokyo, by the way), the area is full of green, there are even some vegitable
fields, a large public park (I am writing this page sitting on a side of a
grassy hill in the park), and a biggish suburban shopping mall, etc, etc, well,
we are transforming into real "middle class suburban residents".
The High-light of this year happened next. I started up my own business, Wistyhill , with some support from my
husband. For its first project, I set up a web site for FLEX AUTO k.k. (Now I am working on a
project for Business Objects -- Demo Site).
If you want to find a used car without a salesman bugging you all the time, the
site is a place to go. I was maddeninly busy this summer, designing and setting
up a database, writing a bunch of GUI-based front end software, and the
database driven web pages, etc, etc. The project was really interesting and
enjoyable. I feel extremely lucky that I enjoy doing what I do, I work at home
when I like, and I am an owner of a small business. The next step would be to
decide which direction the business should go, and to make the business network
larger, which by the way is very very small now...
This is my resume just
in case you are in need of a bilingual (English-Japanese) ORACLE DATABASE
engineer with client software developement and Oracle web server experience on
NT and UNIX.
My husband, by
the way, has very Californian attitudes about lots of things (he's from IDAHO,
though). We are a member of this organic food distributor called
"Radish-boya"; he thinks it cool to have lots of organic vegitables,
and I am more attracted by their home delivery system. Thanks to them, we
hardly have to go shopping for food, and we have lots and lots of fresh and
reasonably good fruit and vegitable in the fridge all the time. The drawback is
that I have to struggle with muddy vegitable everyday, and we have to have lots
of vegitable everyday even when we don't want to. Anyway, we went to Hokkaido
this summer with Radish-boya, visiting organic farmers there. This is a picture
we took in front of a dairy we visited.
Hugo was born 4th April 1998. He's two and a half now. This is the first time I have changed this home page since I first uploaded it in 1996. If you would like to see the cutest baby pictures, "Press here!" .
