Welcome! The purpose of these pages is to provide information about local government in the UK. However, as a former Sandwell MBC Councillor now living in Japan, it also contains links to some sites in Japan.
The main part of information consists of the list of UK Councils on the WWW, which was last updated on Wed, Aug 5, 1998. This lists 315 UK Councils that have a Web site. The list contains information about the type of authority the council is, and its location within the UK (for those of you not intimately familiar with the UK's geography.)
These pages were first released in August 1995.
Japanese Version
There is also a Japanese version of this site that includes much of the same information in Japanese and also links to the Japanese versions of Japanese city and prefectural pages.
