film festival: Fujino Eizô Trip '99 Late Announcement! A film festival, Fujino Eizô Trip '99 will be held at Creation Hall, Fujino Geijutsu no Ie on September 23-25 (this Thursday to Saturday). I know little (okay, nothing) about the leading edge of Japanese film (or Western film for that matter, as people who suffered through my comments about Titanic will attest), and the blurb I got was in Japanese only; I'm rushing this announcement out now, so I have undoubtedly gotten the reading of some of the names (even Western names!) wrong; sorry for that. At any rate, the festival will feature the following works: 1. Mito Hineki 水戸ひねき, Nô no kyûjitsu 脳の休日(1994 color, 16mm, 20min); received Grand Prix at the 1996 Yuubari Fanta Ofu Shiataa bumon ゆうばりファンタ・オフ・シアター部門 (I don't even know what this means!) 2. Ohshima Hiroshi 大島拓, Weekend Peace/Piece ウィークエンドピース (1997 video, 87 min) 3. Nagano Satoshi 永野敏, Uzumore うずもれ (1999, 16mm color, 100 min). 4. Morihito モリヒト, Pointo ポイント (1999, 16mm color, 20 min) 5. Komatsu Chiyuu 小松知有, Sou iu nandarou そういうなんだろう (1998 VTR color, 29min, documentary) 6. Saitou Rika 斉藤理香, Ichiban ressha ga deru mae ni 一番列車が出る前に (1998, 16mm color, 25 min) 7. Ishida Naoshi 石田尚志 Heya/Keitai 部屋／形態 (1999, 16mm color, 7 min) 8. Ozawa Satoshi 小沢和史, Fall Ground フォールグラウンド (1999, 16mm color, 23 min) 9.
