Shibata Ryokan
Fujino has at least two Japanese-style ryokan or travelers' inns, the Shibata and the Tenguiwa. As mentioned elsewhere, Camp Akiyamagawa also has a common inn or minshuku. The Shibata Ryokan is located at the northern end of the bridge Katsuse-bashi, just 150 meters from the Fujino-Sagamiko entrance (No. 8) to the Chôû Expressway. Rooms prices begin at ¥10,000 per person per night, including two meals. The Shibata also has facilities for large Japanese style parties (enkai), and is also a boat-rental agency.
The Tenguiwa Ryokan is located above the river Akiyamagawa, near the Nakura Iriguchi bus stop in Fujino's Hizure district. From the bus stop, go down the hill midway to the bridge over the river Akiyamagawa, and it will be on the right. Their rooms begin at ¥6,000 with two meals. I'm not sure (they weren't too free with information), but they seem to be used most heavily by the fisherman crowd.
I hasten to emphasize that I cannot personally vouch for either of these places, since I haven't stayed in them and haven't heard reports from anyone who has, either. The ladies I spoke to at Shibata were very friendly and helpful when I asked for information while researching this page, though. If you have occasion to stay in one, I'd appreciate hearing a report on how they are. To return to your previous location, use your browser's "BACK" button, or click your heels together three times while saying, "there's no place like home" . . .
