Me, after a race over Mt.Hotaka Oct.1997. See Mountains for more Hotaka photos.

Misako and I got married on 27th of April 1997 in Dublin. That's where I'm from. Dublin is the capital of Ireland. It's a great city to live in and I'm sure we will settle down there some day.

Now I'm working in Japan, where I have been living on and off for just over ten years. I'm a computer engineer specializing in network management and application programming. I am currently working for Logica Japan as an IT engineer.

As a keen outdoor type I am fond of the odd game of tennis or soccer. I also regularly enjoy hiking, but I have a passion for cycling. Having cycled extensively in China, through Kyrgyzstan, across Europe, around New Zealand up and down mountains of Nepal, North and South in Indonesia and to and from the East and West of Japan, I am both well traveled and quite fit. Other hobbies of mine include playing cards and chess (including shogi).

As an Irishman, I enjoy meeting people and having the odd pint or two. However, with a long commute to work now, I seem to spend more time reading (or sleeping on the train).

I also do the odd bit of cooking. Last year I prepared Irish stew for an international festival in Ome. Over 100 lucky people got to taste the outcome. The recipe included a pint of guinness!

I enter about 8 cycling races a year. For details and photos see my cycling page.
