This
is the holocaust memorial in New Jersey, across the river from New York City.
It represents an American soldier carrying a dying holocaust victim out of his
concentration camp. You can see the Statue of Liberty small in the background.
"proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof:
it shall be a jubile unto you;" -Leviticus 25:10
I took these photos during a visit to new Jersey at the end
of 1999. I never got around to putting them up, but now seems like the right
time. I didn't concentrate on the World Trade Center. I thought it would be
around for a long time, that it would outlive me, and then last through the
coming century. How wrong I was.
Here
is the memorial with the World Trade Center in the background. Maybe I will
come back to this in the future and try to describe the emotions I feel looking
at these pictures again.
