This is the holocaust memorial in New Jersey, across the river from New York City. It represents an American soldier carrying a dying holocaust victim out of his concentration camp. You can see the Statue of Liberty small in the background. "proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you;" -Leviticus 25:10

I took these photos during a visit to new Jersey at the end of 1999. I never got around to putting them up, but now seems like the right time. I didn't concentrate on the World Trade Center. I thought it would be around for a long time, that it would outlive me, and then last through the coming century. How wrong I was.


Here is the memorial with the World Trade Center in the background. Maybe I will come back to this in the future and try to describe the emotions I feel looking at these pictures again.
