Please Note (posted Jan. 20, 2010) Section 2: Bios of Students & Section 5: Bios of Teachers No new submissions will be accepted
after July 31, 2010. This
section is scheduled to be deleted after Dec. 31, 2010. Ms.
Marian (Palmer) Helmick Anyway,
we have a 10-year-old son named Davey who has autism. Davey was
diagnosed at 3 years old and back then it was very difficult to find support.
I started a chat and a networking/resource group. It seems autism
is becoming more widely spread and better diagnosed nowadays. There's a
lot of hope and resources available in our Northeast area of Ohio now.
I have details in the information for my group. If you know
someone who would like to learn more about it, share the info listed below. I
hope all of you are doing well. I look forward to getting reacquainted
with you. Northeast

Karen (Middle) and her children J. P.'s note-Next summer,
there's a Berea HS '80 micro-reunion open to all of you in the Nanjing
area. Same in Yokohama, too. After finishing high school, he worked at the
Big Boy Restaurant on Brookpark Rd. for 18 yrs. He lived in his own apartment for a few years, too. Finally, he decided he needed a change so he
went to work for Walmart. One
day, while he was working he found a blue moneypurse and inside was about
$4000.00 and a checkbook that belonged to the Home for Mentally Handicapped
Adults. He turned it in, but,
unfortunately, didn't hear anything more about it. One unlucky day, while he was working in
Walmart's parking lot gathering up carts, a car hit him and it messed up his
leg so bad he had to quit. After
that, he lost his apartment, so he had to move back home with his mom and
dad. He's on disability right now. He's single, 44 yrs. old, has no
girlfriend, and doesn't drive.
If anybody wants to look him up, he lives on Hummel Rd. in the only
purple house in Brook Park. (Info as of Jan. 2006) Matt
wrote to say that he volunteers at his local Catholic church once a
month. He also donates goods to
the school attached to the church.
He always returns some of his bingo winnings to the church, too. His leg injury slowed him down, so he
had gained weight, but he has lost 50 pounds in the past few months by
dieting. (Info as of Feb. 2007)

Looks Like a Winning Team Ms. Veronica (Prescott) Kreemer Some BHS grads may remember me as Rhonda
Prescott - I went back to using the name Veronica (as on my birth
certificate) during 10th grade. I grew up in Berea - attended Lechner
Elementary and Roehm JHS. I
attended BHS during 10th grade (1977-1978); I moved to Florida with my mother
and graduated with the class of 1980 at Gainesville High School. After much travel (including 3 1/2
years in Germany), I graduated from the University of Florida with a
Bachelors in Accounting. I
eventually moved back to Ohio due to a job transfer with Nationwide Insurance
in Columbus (1996-2000) and finished my Masters' at the University of
Dayton. Now back in Florida, I
have an interesting job with a software company as a project manager and
senior operations analyst. I'm
married to a Lutheran pastor; our most recent church call brought us to a
church in St. Petersburg with our daughter and many pets. My fondest '77-'78 BHS memories were of that
year's musical "Brigadoon" (John Reddy as Harry Beaton - nice dance moves in that
kilt...) and of doe-eyed Mr.Bianchi substituting that year as choir director
(most of us gals in the choir had a crush on him!) In browsing this BHS site, I recognize many names,
especially those who attended Lechner and Roehm. Danged if I can't find my yearbook! I'm fortunate to have an interesting and
creative job, and I commute there by bicycle 3 - 4 times a week. (Besides getting a great cardio
workout, this pleases my bleeding-heart, tree-hugging, liberal side to no end.) For fun, I enjoy workout classes
early mornings; my favorite is kickboxing. I also love creative, healthy cooking with local and
regional foods, reading, trolling the Internet, and being a smart-ass. I enjoy practicing my German and
Spanish language skills with friends.
Besides delivering singing telegrams during college, I've kept up with
my singing through several city and regional chamber choirs,
performing the soprano solos from pieces by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, and
Verdi. I am blessed with a wonderful family, good
health, and interesting work.
God is good...and so is life! People can write to me at: rtpts2f02@sneakemail.com (Info as of July 2007)

1999. He has been married to

P.'s note- To
this day, I'm still convinced the election for prom theme was rigged because
my choice, High Plains Drifter, didn't appear on any ballot. Mr.
J. Rogerson "I
am living in Berea with my wife Sue (Hirsch) [BHS '81] of 20 years and our
boys: 12, 12 and 10. We are very
involved in their active lives and enjoy traveling. I am currently President/owner of a rehabilitation company
that provides physical, occupational and speech therapies." (Info as of March 2007)
