Mr.
R. Sanborn
(shop, j.v. girl's basketball coach)
Then Ms. Margaret Sankey (vo-ed) died on May
1, 2002 at the age of 73, according to The Plain Dealer. She had two children and four
grandchildren. The cause of
death was not stated, but the obituary said memorial contributions could be
directed to the American Cancer Society. (Thanks to Ms. K. Dudek for info.)
1980 Yearbook Mr. Ronald Schuff (guidance counselor)
died in Feb. 1998 at the age of 56.

fraternity brothers that has fun photos. There's
a Ronald J. Schuff "Bobcat" Scholarship that is awarded in May to a
BHS graduating senior who plans to attend Ohio University. This scholarship
was established by the Schuff family as Mr. Schuff graduated from OU. Donations may be sent to: Berea
School Employees Credit Union, 19249 East Bagley Road, Middleburg Hts.,
OH 44130 OR to: Mrs.
Georgia Schuff, 115 Manning Drive, Berea, OH 44017. Mr.
Schuff was a guidance counselor at Berea High School from 1969 until his
retirement in 1993. During his
years at Berea High, he taught special courses, chaperoned proms and field
trips, worked at sporting events, and of course, counseled thousands of students. He was known as the counselor with
the Òopen doorÓ policy. Mr.
Schuff was also the counselor-specialist in financial aid, grants, student
loans, and scholarships. Ron
SchuffÕs involvement with people was extended into the Berea community. He served on many special committees,
and was administrative assistant at the Berea Historical Society. His most enjoyable involvement,
however, was the establishment of the downtown classic car show, ÒCruisinÕ on

Then Mr. John Tarnosky's (senior class
advisor) obituary This obituary below for "Mr. T." is
adapted from the online one above: John A. Tarnosky, Jr., age 65, died Wednesday
July 23, 2003 after a sudden illness.
He was a resident of South Amherst from 1943-1996. He then relocated
to Henderson, Nevada, and Surprise, Arizona, before moving to Vermilion in
January 2003. Mr. Tarnosky was a Corporal (E-4) in the U.S.
Marines serving from 1956 - 1959.
He was a social studies teacher at Berea High School and Roehm Middle
School from 1971 to 1994, when he retired. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, traveling, and casino
gambling. (The
obituary makes no mention of a wife or children.)
