Mr.
George Viebranz
(math) kindly sent biographical info and a photo. He
retired from Berea City School District in 2004, after 31 years of
service. He was in a number of
teaching and administrative roles in different schools in the system. From
time-to-time, he is an adjunct faculty member at Cleveland State U., Ashland
U., and Baldwin-Wallace College.
His new career is in mathematics and science consulting. Here are four of his projects: 1. He's the Executive Director of the Ohio Mathematics and
Science Coalition, an advocacy group that supports the development of
stronger mathematics and science education for Ohio's P-16 students. In
Nov. 2005, they moved to a new office in Cleveland's new "Idea
Center" at Playhouse Square. 2. He's a program director for the work
of the SMART Consortium. 3. He's a school coordinator for 11 NE
Ohio districts participating in a National Science Foundation research
project that is Promoting Rigorous Outcomes in Mathematics and Science
Education (PROM/SE {pronounced "promise"}). 4. He is a regional team leader for the
Ohio Mathematics Academy Project, a statewide teacher training initiative of
the Ohio Department of Education. (Info. as of May 2005)

William ÒBillÓ White died on April 12, 2008 at the age of 65. According to his obituary in the Mt.
Vernon Register-News (of Illinois), he had worked at BHS from 1969 to 1992 and
he was survived by his companion of 45 years. The cause of death was not

is on the faculty of two well-known, private universities in the Cleveland
area. She and Mr. Youel have

J. Youel
(social studies) lives in the Cleveland suburbs. He taught at BHS from 1968 to 1998 and has retired from
the school system. He teaches
part-time at BW. In 2004, he was
inducted into the Berea City School District Hall of Fame. Mr.
Y. took time to chat with me when I phoned him without warning in May

and from his work as a church organist and choir director, according to his
own information that he posted on the Internet. He added that he now spends his time traveling, reading,

Zoscak lives in Lake Placid, Florida from Oct - May then migrates north
to Marblehead, Ohio for the summer months. Fishes, golfs and spends the
days being busy with other activities. Enjoys the company of former
Berea students and talking about the best years of our lives. If you are
in Florida or the Port Clinton, OH area, look me up in the telephone
directory and give me a call. Would enjoy spending some time with
