This is another view of my husband's side of things and the window. The closet doors which I removed to make a closet desk are behind the black curtain. At the top, I wadded up a teatowl and tried to tape it behind the doors so they don't bang around against the window behind them. Unfortuately, this isn't working out so great since the towel seems worm its way out rather than stay behind and act as padding. I'll have to rig something better some time. The big dark pink thing is a body pillow which I picked up at Costco for about 900 yen. It's great if you have back problems. The second shelf of the shelves on my husband's side is where he keeps his laptop at night. I didn't want it to be on the top shelf in case the air conditioner ever leaked water. A prevous AC destroyed a former PowerBook of mine because of condensation dripping from it. My husband's side is set up with maximum utility for him in mind. If it isn't easy for him to grab something or put it away, he'll just toss things on his treadmill or furniture. That's why his clothes hang along the wall on his side and why there are a couple of drawers for his snacks (sunflower seeds mainly) and little bits of junk. The blue thing hanging on the wall is for a notebook, pen, and a comb. There's also a tiny trash can on the top shelf for convenience.
