The shelving under the sink is actually rather new. It was replaced last year after the pipes started leaking and damaged the inside of the old one. The gas table is "original issue". My brother-in-law furnished our apartment as a wedding gift for us (as we married just before moving here) and the gas table, the large shelf holding our dishes, and table in the previous picture are all survivors from that original furnishing. Everything looks a bit worn but works well and probably would be replaced with prettier but far flimsier items. I love new-looking stuff but I also think people are too wasteful in the name of pristine newness so I'll stick with what works until it stops working. The cannisters on the windowsill are an import set from Costco. They are very good for flour, sugar, oatmeal, etc. because the mouths are wide enough to get a measuring cup into (or your hand). The green trolley was also a nice find because it's full of storage both in front and back. It rolls out easily so I can get to other cupboards behind it. The sumo handprint clock has Akebono's hand and signature.
