We spent a whole day driving from Tashkent to Samarkand. We actually crossed the border into Kazakhstan for a few miles. Why were there no visa procedures?
We stopped for a lunch at a tea house. These ladies were sitting on the side of the road. There are people sitting by the side of the road everywhere, selling things or doing who knows what else.
On the road to Samarkand, there is a geological formation in the picture above, called "Timur's Gate".
