I am currently employed by Citibank N.A. in Tokyo, Japan. I work (if that is the word) at pricing exotic (i.e., new kinds of) foreign exchange options. However, my main interests are in no particular order -
- Computers. I have worked with PCs, Macintoshes, DEC VAXes, and Sun Sparcs. Currently I use a Sun SPARC 20 with 64 MB memory running Solaris 2.3. At home, I have an Apple Power Macintosh 6100/60 with 40MB memory running System 7.5.3 as well as MkLinux. I also have a Digital DecStation 5100 running Ultrix 4.2A (just for fun). Sometimes, through no fault of my own, I have to use a Windows PC (ugh!) at work. Unfortunately, we have Windows bigots in the office who know of no other computers or OSes (scary :-). See the Macintosh Evangelist site for the other side of the coin ...
- Programming. I have been programming now for 14 years most of it in applications. Most of it has been in C and VAX Pascal but I also try and do stuff in Common Lisp, Scheme and Python. Sometimes I try and venture into the sludge of C++ and more recently Java. For more see my Programming page.
- Model Helicopters. I own a Kyosho Concept EP electric radio helicopter which I am currently trying to get up in the air. Helicopters have always fascinated me - they are not really meant to fly and that they do always seems amazing. I have some links to pages which deal with helicopters (gas and electric powered).
- Photography. I was a keen amateur photographer. Although I don't have much time any more to indulge in darkroom stuff, I still shoot pictures for weddings and parties absolutely free ... You may even get some pictures at the end of it. I have some of my photographs (the ones I have been able to scan) on show here.
- Music mainly R&B and Indian Classical. Not much here at present. Check back later.
- Classic Films (including the great B-grade movies). Ditto as above.
Here are links to some of my friends pages - their putting up links to my then non-existent page is what prompted this effort at a home page. You don't like it ? Complain to one or all of
Steven Trussel who has a beautiful (and informative) set of pages here. You will need a frames capable browser to visit.
David Meisenzahl who is a sumotori wannabe and has interesting sumo pictures as well as pictures of many common friends on his home page.
Jim Eggleston who other than being a tolerable Aussie and a colleague was actually the last straw which broke my not-putting-up-a-home-page back. You can find his "family album" here.
