I have supported several charities on a regular basis for many years.

Each year I have two charity pottery sales by silent auction.

Over recent years I have contributed and sent substantial amounts to the following:

• "Rwandan Refugees"
• "Bosnian Orphans"
• "Feed The Children" (Feeding starving children in North Korea)
• "Concern Worldwide"
• "Kids Earth Fund" (Building an orphanage for children with AIDS in Chiangmai ,Thailand)
• "Chun Tannareth" (Constructing wheelchairs for Cambodian landmine victims)
• "Relief for starving children in North Korea"
• "World Wildlife Fund For Nature" (we adopted a White Rhino family)
• "Feed Tokyo Homeless - Joint Show with 4 Homeless Artists"
• "Kids Earth Fund" (Building an orphanage for children in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietman)
• "Artists without Borders" (work with war traumatised children throughout the world)

KIDS EARTH FUND

August 1999 sees one of the most important charity auctions of Steve Tootell's work . Chiang Mai , Thailand has the largest number of children born with the aids virus in the world. The KIDS EARTH FUND headed by Harumi Torii has spent many years establishing orphanages and medical relief programs throughout Asia and Africa. This year , a project to build a respite center with Art Therapy units for kids with aids in Chiang mai will be partly funded by the sale of Steve Tootell pots. This collection of new work which began in May 1999 illustrates a combination of hi-tech photo silk screening onto clay using complicated cobalt slips and more traditional methods of throwing and altering large platters by beating to produce serving forms for the table or for decoration. Twenty large pieces demonstrate a versatile approach using traditional and modern ready-made motifs ...sold to the public totally for the human good . Keep up the good work KIDS EARTH FUND ..!
