1.) How often does the YAG hold events?
As a rule we hold an event every month, usually on the 1st
Saturday of every month. Sometimes we meet on an alternative
date, because of the schedule of the event, so please check
the ‘events’ page, or ask, for confirmation. Also,
people sometimes organize events that are not officially promoted
by the YAG (for example birthday parties, hiking or skiing
trips) but that we are happy to endorse, because of their
suitability for young adults.

2.) How is the YAG serving the spiritual
needs of the Tokyo Union Church and individuals?
We always aim to be responsible to spiritual needs, and to
adapt accordingly. While our primary aim is to organize and
endorse fellowship activities that lead to deeper relationships,
we also aim to guide people into other areas of the Church
body where they can serve and be served accordingly. We encourage
young adults to participate in the Adult education program
and aid with the rice project.

3.) How many people come to events/who’s coming?
Unless we need ticket payment in advance of an event we are
not able to say how many people will, or are likely to attend.
Numbers vary greatly according to interest, time of year and
financial factors. We are responsible for the proficient organization
and promotion of events, after that we pray and leave it in
God’s hands.

4.) What happens if I want to attend an event, but
haven’t got enough money?
We can help you in this area, because there are specific funds
available. If you’d like some financial assistance please
contact either David Stuchbury or Kevin Mueller. Your request
will be dealt with confidentially.

5.) I’ve paid for an event in advance, now
I can’t attend. Can I get my money back?
Regrettably, we are not able to give refunds.

6.) Can I swap my ticket with my friend?
Yes.

7.) I haven’t paid for a ticket, and have decided,
after the deadline to ask for one. Can you get me a ticket?
We put a deadline on application for attendance and payment
in order that we have plenty of time to get tickets and ensure
finances are dealt with properly. Once a deadline for application
for an event has passed, and unless you here differently through
the YAG committee, you’ll have to make your own arrangements
regarding ticket allocation.

8.) Can you get me a ticket, I’ll pay later?
If you haven’t paid within the advertised deadline we
can’t order your ticket.

9.) I’m attending an event, but am going to
be late meeting everyone at the station. Can you wait for
me, please?
We usually arrange our meeting times a good fifteen minutes
before our time of departure to a location. For example, if
we have to catch a train to a soccer stadium at 12:15, we’ll
arrange to meet at the ticket gates around 11.50. This is
to allow time for the inevitable late comers. However we’ve
decided on a policy that means we will not wait more than
a couple of minutes beyond the arranged time, because we have
a day to enjoy, possibly a location to reach, and don’t
want to compromise those who made it on time. If you think
you’re going to be late check the website in advance
for details of the location, so that you can make your own
way conveniently, or give us a ring and we’ll tell you
where we are and the best way to get there.

10.) How old or young do you have to be to attend

11.) Do I have to be a Christian to attend?
We welcome young adults from all walks of life, nationalities
and beliefs. If you’re joining us for the first time
please feel welcome, relax and enjoy yourself.

14.) I want to advertise an event that I think is
suitable for YAG members. How can I do this?
There are two ways to have your event endorsed by the YAG:
through the YAG mailing list, sent to all who’ve signed
up to receive information, or through the website, which is
open to all those who check it. Please send your complete
message to either yagtuc@yahoogroups.com
to put your message on the mailing list, or in a word file
to Kevin Takeuchi to advertise through the website. Remember
that all events should be relevant to young adults in the
church, and that we don’t feature personal correspondence
or opinions.
