Kingdom Come Kids: children aged 6 - 11
This dynamic program, based on a workshop rotation model, gets rave reviews from
children and adults alike. Each rotation, lasting four to five weeks, covers a
single Bible story, which is explored through such activities as games,
storytelling, cooking, science, crafts, and music. KCK runs from September
through May, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., in the B1 Fellowship Hall. For more
information on KCK, click here.
Committed to Children
Adult volunteers teach the same segment for the duration of the 4-to- 5 week
rotation, with adjustments made based on the age group. Due to the structure and
diversity of the curriculum, children are able to work with and learn from a
dynamic group of individuals.
Kindergarten
Sunday School: children aged 3- 5
A fun Bible-based curriculum, emphasizing music, crafts, and fostering
friendships, which helps children develop love and faith in Christ. Classes run
from 9:45 to 10:45 in the 4th Floor Early Learning Center classrooms.
Stable Environment
Recognizing that young children thrive in a familiar environment, the program is
taught by a select and talented team of adult volunteers, with extensive
experience working with this age group.
Children In Church
TUC values its families and children. Throughout the year, there are special
events that pay tribute to children and their interests, such as singing, lector
reading, drama, and music recitals. Every Sunday during the morning worship
services, Good News for Kids, a 5-minute talk for children, is given by the
pastor or someone involved in Children’s Ministry.
Seek-and-Find Sermon Worksheets, which include a memory verse, drawing space,
and question related to the sermon, are provided for children aged 8 and older
who remain in service. Worksheets, which are turned in, are read by the pastor,
who writes an encouraging note on what is written or drawn.
Children not in Church
Kinder Bible Corner: taught during services
Children aged 4 to 7, who are not yet able to sit comfortably through an entire
service, are invited to join the Kinder Bible Corner immediately following Good
News for Kids at the 8:30, 11:00, and 4:00 services. The program is casual, yet
carefully structured, and includes music, biblical stories, crafts, games, and a
snack. It’s located just outside the sanctuary in the 2nd floor classroom.
Sunday Nursery
Staffed by friendly professionals, the Sunday Nursery looks after children aged
3 and younger, from the start of the 8:30 a.m. service until the end of the 11
a.m. service. There are special occasions when it is not open.
Vacation Bible School
Every year, we host Vacation Bible School for a week in August. The program is
open to elementary-school aged children, and is an opportunity that shouldn’t be
missed. The 2006 Fiest was attended by a multi-national group of over
70 children. Through Christian-based music, crafts, video, and storytelling,
children are able to focus on strengthening their relationship with God and each
other.
