FORUMS

The 21st century is said to become the century of art.
In order to spread the possibilities of art in this era, we have started "Toyota Able Art Forum" through which we discuss the art of people with disabilities with a new angle.
This is co-sponsered by Toyota Motors Co., executive committees in each area, and ABLE ART JAPAN, and has been held throughout Japan since March, 1996.
To date, the "Toyota Able Art Forum" has been held at 50 venues around Japan. Its purpose has been to lay the groundwork for and encourage an environment that will allow the creative activities of people with disabilities to take place.
International symposia have also been held to build a global network with others active in the field.

* Toyota Motors has sympathized with the "Able Art Movement" and supports the forum not only economically, but by program planning and operation.

◇Toyota Able Art Forum

"BASIC PROGRAM"
"How to promote art activities of people with disabilities"

Panelists who have great experience with art activities of people with disabilities will discuss about promotion of able art in facilities and schools, from an artist's point of view.
We hope that supporters of able art will grow and environment for enriched expression activities will become active in each area.

"Active Practice Program"
"Workshop on Bringing Out New Artists and Art Management Classes"

For people with disabilities to be able to express themselves, there is a need for someone to bring out their potentials.
In places where we have held the symposium before, we will go one step further and hold workshops to create a new "art of possibilities" and art management classes also.

In the "Workshops", we will learn fundamental theories about working with people with disabilities, how to communicate with them, how to create a comfortable environment, and how to bring out potentials, through the actual experience of painting.
In the "Art management classes", we will research through case studies about publicizing, planning, connection of people, earning fund, and presenting the works at exhibitions.

We hope that through these forums, new artists will be born at schools, facilities, work places, and art studio.
