Sarah Kavanagh

Born in Warwickshire on 3rd June 1973 of Irish and English parents, raised in Jamaica and Ireland, Sarah Kavanagh has made great progress herself through the levels of International Motor Racing.
While at college Sarah began to attend motor races, notably The 'Le Mans 24 Hour' race. She then decided to concentrate on a career in motor racing. She drove in single-seater racing cars via Formula Fords, in which she raced, with success, in local and National championships in 1992.
In 1994, in her first experience of the Formula Opel Championship, Sarah was acknowledged by all as a star in the making. In 1995 Sarah concentrated on Formula Vauxhall and drove in the championship winning SuperMarketing Racing Team. In 1996 Sarah joined the British Formula 2 Championship, and she stunned people who previously believed a woman could not be competitve in the 500Bhp high downforce 'Reynard Cosworths' (racing cars).
Driving these 500 horsepower, 190 mph Reynard Cosworths, makes her the fastest female circuit racer in the world. She is the sole female representative on the race track of Japan's Formula Nippon Championship.
There is now a plan to bring Sarah through Formula Nippon in 1997 and 1998 and into a test contract with a Grand Prix team in 1999. Her objective is to drive in Formula 1 Grand Prix races in 1999. Already team bosses in the top Formula One teams are showing interest in the enormous marketing opportunities that would be provided by a competitive woman in Formula One.
Sarah Kavanagh is set to change the face of international motor racing.
