Right across the street from Yuuki there's another of Kotsubo's few attractions, Uosaji. An old, traditional restaurant, it's not so different from its colleague nearby in terms of the food it serves, but it's several steps above it in elegance and style.
This is not to say it's better: it's just different, at least to those like me who enjoy atmosphere and often prefer to leave elegance to the cobbler and the tailor (yes, this is a quotation). Places like Yuuki do have their charm.

Uosaji, which also has a fish shop right next to Zushi station, unlike Yuuki serves only Japanese food divided in two broad categories, sashimi and fried fish. Since the harbor is no more than 100 meters away, the quality of the fish is superb, so meals are always excellent. If you read Japanese, you will also have an opportunity to enjoy new things. Their claim to fame is their fried aji, that goes for 750 yen, but you will also enjoy their mixed sashimi dish, a big plate of superfresh assorted sashimi for just 1600. I know Kotsubo harbor is a little out of the way, but if you happen to be in Zushi Marina or Kotsubo, a meal there is an excellent idea. J
ust remember, though, that it's open only for lunch.
