Living in Japan since 1982, a permanent resident and a technical translator since 1984, I translate from Japanese, English, German and Italian into Italian and English. I have an extremely wide experience in practically all fields, but my specialties are computers and automotive manuals. I am familiar with several operating systems, including Mac OS 9.x, Mac OS X 10.3, Windows 9x, NT, 2000, XP and many different distributions of Linux, including Mandrake/Mandriva, SuSE, and Red Hat. I work on a Mac G4 running Mac OS 9..2 and Mac OS X, Japanese versions, and two Windows boxes I built myself, on which I run Windows XP in the Italian and Japanese versions, plus Linux SuSE 7.2 and Mandrake 9.1 in the English versions. I have been translating motorbikes (Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha) since 1985 and have probably at least 6000 pages of shop manuals behind me.
